MTN View Oasis Scholarship: A Tribute for Them

After the tragic loss of two of siblings less than three weeks apart I made the decision to launch the MTN View Oasis Scholarship. This scholarship is dedicated to helping individuals in the service dog community fund a service dog and/or training for an existing service dog.

The MTN View Oasis Scholarship aims to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to receive financial support with an existing service dog or a potential service dog prospect.

This MTN View Oasis Scholarship serves as a heartfelt tribute that aligns with the passion of MTN View Oasis goal of giving back to the disabled community in a meaningful way.

A portion of every sale will be going towards the MTN View Oasis Scholarship as well as direct donations from those closely involved.

A Tribute for: Savanah

My sister, Savanah, affectionately known as "Vanah," tragically lost her battle with mental health on on August 28th, 2023, at the young age of 17. Savanah had a unique way of creating lasting memories with those she loved.

Savanah once told me that meeting me was her "watermark event." Vanah's concept of "watermark events" symbolizes the impact of significant moments in her life. It's a memory I cherish and will continue to hold onto.

Just as Savanah's "watermark event" left an indelible mark on my heart, the MTN View Oasis Scholarship aims to create last, meaningful memories for those it supports. It's a tribute to her remarkable and beautiful spirit and the legacy that she left behind, ensuring that her vibrant presence lives on in the lives of others.

Savanah had participated in wrestling and considered herself to be a wrestler. She loved to draw and had many talents. Savanah was an animal lover and loved being outdoors; she especially enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.

Most of all Savanah cherished family. Family wasn't just DNA for her, she made her own family. Savanah collected family members, friends became family and she protected them all as if they were her own. Those who love Savanah were family to her and she was fiercly loyal to them all.

Watermark event: something that leaves a permanent mark; it changes or influences you forever in some way, positively or negatively, or a mixture of both
I remember the day we finally met. Savanah was so excited and immediately attached to my hip. From that day on I watched her grow up from shooting her first deer to joining wrestling to her first job and everything in between.

Savanah grew into an absolutely beautiful person inside and out. It's an honor to be her sister.

I remember a few years ago we were fishing at the lake and we were sitting there waiting for a bite just talking bout stuff and a fish landed between us. We were so confused! Only to find out your dad had tried to toss it back only for the wind to pick it up and dropit between us. Then shortly later you got a fish only to jerk so hard it came flying out of the water and going behind us and dad asking if you'd gotten a big one. I had to say I didn't know!Went by too fast and how hard you laughed because it almost hit me on the way by.

Jason's spirit and resilience will continue to inspire us, despite his short time with us. This scholarship is a tribute to a young soul who faced life's challenges with courage and grace.
